Centenary congress report

We are happy to report the safe and successful conclusion of the hybrid Centenary Congress in Geneva, Switzerland! Over 300 on-site and 200 online participants joined us from 45 different countries for the four-day congress. The Program was active and interesting, with 50 poster sessions and 150 different types of presentations. We believe that participants not only enjoyed it but also came to know that Hermann Rorschach was a genius scholar!

The ISR Board created several projects for the congress and they all added a great deal to our knowledge of Hermann Rorschach and the history of the test worldwide:

—the Hermann Rorschach Archives Exhibition

—Hermann Rorschach’s Dissertation translated into 4 languages

—Map Project—illustrating how the Rorschach spread across the world

—Voices of the Future— “Focus groups” in 4 languages

—Young Generation from 12 Countries Spoke about the future

—Special edition of the Rorschachiana, dialog with the wider community

More projects from the Centenary Organizing Committee:

—Video Project, 11 professionals talk “why I use the Rorschach”

—Art project—showing how the Rorschach has been depicted in art

In addition to the projects, three awards were presented. First, was the Best Paper Award chosen by the ISR’s Past Presidents, which was given for two papers this time to cover the five-year period since the Paris Congress. Then, there were two newly-created awards: The John E. Exner Award for lifetime contributions to the Rorschach and Comprehensive System, and the Distinguished Service to ISR Award.

In the opening ceremony, we stated that we wanted this to be a rejuvenating congress that stimulated and energized the participants, and we believe we achieved that goal, and we are now excited to start preparing for the Copenhagen Congress in Denmark on July 9-12, 2024. Please mark off these dates in your calendar and plan to join us!
